Static noise when streaming FibeTV on my PC and iPhone

When using the Fibe TV app on either my iPhone or my laptop I hear a faint static noise in the background.  I tried the Bell virtual repair that checked the whole network within and around my home and followed all the instructions and recommendations but the static is still present.  What are the next steps to fix this?

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

Wi-Fi static and noise (interference) are primarily caused by electromagnetic interference from other devices, overcrowded channels (especially 2.4 GHz), and physical obstacles reducing signal quality. Common causes can include microwave ovens, Bluetooth devices, thick walls, and neighboring Wi-Fi networks, etc.

Can you please provide us with some further information?

  1. Which model number of iPhone are you using?  iOS version? Are your apps up to date? Have you rebooted your iPhone & laptop doing a full power off / on?
  2. Are you experiencing this same static noise issue while using other apps? Have you tried moving your iPhone & laptop to a different location to see if you can replicate this same problem?
  3. Are there any other devices or objects within the vicinity that could be causing interference & static noise?
  4. Which Bell Internet package do you subscribe to? Which model of Bell modem? Can you run a speed test from within your Bell modem? Low bandwidth can cause audio glitches.
  5. How is your laptop connected? Wireless or wired with an ethernet cable. If wireless, are you able to connect with an ethernet cable to see if you are experiencing this same issue?
  6. Have you checked for any loose cables & connectors? Headphone jacks, frayed cords, etc.
  7. Can you check your audio enhancement setting on your laptop & if enabled turn this off to see if it makes a difference. You should verify your Audio & Visual settings on your iPhone.

Please let us know.

Take care.
