On Crave, Netflix and Disney plus: when watching these streaming services in English, I get French ads. How do I change the ads for English?

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

Ads are dynamically served based on geolocation and viewing habits, localized targeting often triggers French ads by default in certain Canadian regions.
To change your streaming and Internet ads to English, update your device location settings, ad tracking preferences, and account language profile.

How are you accessing Crave, Netflix and Disney +?  Does your device have the location services turned ON?

Typically, you will see ads in the language that you have set in your language preferences and also based on previous viewing habits/history.

Please have a look at these suggestions to adjust your settings:

  • Enable Location Services: Ensure location permissions are turned ON in your streaming device settings (e.g., Apple TV, Roku, Smart TV, or phone) so platforms can accurately detect your local region.
  • Update Account Language: Log in to your MyBell account, navigate to My Profile > Billing and services > Billing profile, and verify your preferred language is set to English.
  • Reset Ad Preferences: If the ads are delivered via a Google/browser, etc., access your account settings and update your ad personalization language to English.

FYI Only!

To set your language for streaming services, you can generally adjust the audio, subtitles, or the overall platform menu language. The steps vary slightly depending on the service you are using, but most allow you to do this directly from your account settings or during video playback.

  • For example if you are using Crave: Log in on Crave and go to Edit Profile. Scroll down to Content Preferences & Audio/Subtitles Languages, select your preferred audio, and click Save.
  • How to set your Crave audio playback language

Take care.
