Video freezing on 2502 receiver

After almost 10 years without problems, our TV is now freezing to the point it is unwatchable. Bell just sent us a new 2502 receive and it's exactly the same problem. The signature strength (green bars) is good and this problem just started a few days ago but got worse every day. The only thing we noticed is that Bell had boosted our Fibe from 1 Gbps to 3 Gbps. Trying an ethernet connection is not an option due to the distance between receive and modem. We're at the point where we might have to cancel our service and go with Rogers. Any suggestions?

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you posting your question.

Freezing on the Fibe VIP2502 receiver is often caused by a temporary system glitch, a weak signal between the modem & the receiver.

  1. What is the model number of your modem?
  2. Have you rebooted your Bell Modem since the upgrade in modem speed?
  3. Have you fully powered off your VIP2502 and your PVR (VIP5662w or VIP2262) bt unplugging them from their power source?
  4. If you have a VAP3400 connected to your Fibe TV system, have you tried to reposition it to improve your signal strength?
  5. Are there any obstructions that could potentially block the wireless signal from communicating with the modem?
