Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you @589 for reaching and posting your concern.

Yes, it appears that early-season NHL hockey takes priority on major sports channel lineups and prime-time schedules. As baseball winds down, hockey ramps up.

Major League Baseball (MLB) determines which games are broadcast and on which networks and platforms.

To compound this, MLB postseason broadcast rights in Canada are split across national sports networks like Sportsnet and TSN or are shown on the U.S. based broadcast networks.

In order to watch MLB baseball on U.S. broadcast networks, these stations would need to be included in your TV package.

October marks the start of the NHL regular season. Canadian television providers and sports networks heavily prioritize live hockey broadcasts, including regional and national games, over out-of-market or non-Canadian baseball playoff matchups.

Television service providers are bound by contracts negotiated by the major sports leagues with owners and sold to broadcasters. Regional blackouts are just another part of those agreements.

MLB sells postseason rights to specific networks (such as Sportsnet, TSN, or US-based broadcasters like TBS, FS1, and Fox), meaning not every game is picked up or sim-simulated on standard Canadian network feeds.

Which networks broadcast baseball games on Bell TV

Unfortunately, there is little that can be done to change this.

Take care.

Can you clarify, please? Is this Fibe TV or Bell Satellite TV? Are you looking for MLB playoff games and less NHL games?

I did read recently that all leagues like MLB, NBA, NHL and more want to move all broadcasts to premium pay sports channels as it provides a better, more stable revenue stream for owners. Those are contracts negotiated by the leagues with owners and sold to broadcasters. Regional blackouts are a part of those agreements, as well. You might also look at who owns major sports teams in Canada. Once company owns directly or though ownership in another company, every major league sports team in Canada in the NBA, MLB, as well as teams in the NHL, CFL and major league soccer.
