Will receiver still work hooked up to generator?

Will the SD receiver upgrade to HD receiver work when it is not continuously plugged into a power source?  We are off the grid and use a generator as a power source and would only access it and the TV occasionally.....sometimes every couple of days.  Several years back we would drop programming, but a technician was able to address the issue.  We have no phone access to address a program drop.  Nearest phone communication would be two hours away.   Any information would be appreciated

If we are understanding your question correctly, yes, the HD receiver would still work when hooked up to a generator.
