Wightman is installing fibre to the hiome in Orangeville, Bell has planned this for years but nothing has come forward. When  Bell going to provide this because the prices look good and the currently alternatives do not match    as far as speed or reliablity.

Hello

It seems like we are living in the land that time forgot in Joshua Creek, Oakville. There is a huge need here for a neighborhood upgrade to fiber optic directly to the house and to the latest Home Hub 4000/Giga Hub!

We need to be on par with Ottawa and Montreal and other parts of Toronto that have this available to the residential customer! We here do not it....we only have only 50 megabyte download and 10 upload service.

This is 2024 and we are demanding and very much need to be brought on par with those other neighborhoods that have that speed. There's a huge demand for bandwidth because of 4K TV's and of course now 8K TV's,  Netflix and all the other streaming services plus people such as here working from home needing a reliable high speed service which Bell is unfortunately is currently not providing.

There is apparently no plan to upgrade the Joshua Creek neighborhood at all!

After several attempts contacting them, they have told us it is what it is.... nothing in the plan or nothing scheduled for the future to upgrade this neighborhood.

We are asking for an upgrade here to bring us up to speed, so to speak.

Thank you.

Fibre optic cables were buried on my street this summer and a cable was run to my house.
What date will new fiber optic installations be available on Westwood Dr.

Both end of my road which is approximately 2kms long have Bell Fibe Internet. We've dealt with a horrible provider for 20 years and we haven't ever gotten an update on when it will be coming to our road. Please please please bell can you give us some insight or hope that we won't have to use our current provider for ever. There are fibre optic lines from Bell installed on BOTH sides of our road. Can we call and get put on a list or something?? Is there anything we can do to encourage them to install lines on our road???

As stated in the title, our entire street (including both the building to the left and right) has access to Bell Fiber minus our condo building. Clearly the infrastructure is there, just not accessible from our building. I was wondering if there is a process to get Bell fiber installed in the building and how to get started on that path. Right now the only option available is Videotron and I'm sick to my stomach about it.

Hello....

Wondering if there is some sort of ETA on getting high speed fibe internet in my area. I've been with Rogers for years but would like to switch at some point.

This would be in the Hespeler area of Cambridge.

Yeah I have done that and the good internet is not available in my area, only the slowest stone age fibe of 100 down and 10 up at an outrageous price

Thanks though

This is more of a general advice post, and looking to gather reasons to persuade my board to upgrade to fibre in my condo building.

I am a data scientist who recently bought a condo in Etobicoke (closing date end of March). I work majority of time from office, but do work from home 1-2 days a week.

The building management mentioned fibre cables, but it turns out we just have a FTTN connection and the building itself still uses copper. I just wanted to know what the steps will look like for having our connection upgraded so the building has FTTH available. I do have plans to join the condo board here in April when I move in and they accept new members.

The issue is that the current owner said this discussion was brought forth a few years back to lukewarm reception, especially since it's an older crowd. What are some good talking points to mention to help convince people? I know more reliable internet is important for me, but it might be less important to others on this board.

Also, what do the steps look like for this process? If the condo board eventually agrees (fingers crossed that happens sooner rather than later), is there a standard timeline for this kind of process, or is that discussed between the condo board and a Bell representative? And, potentially a stupid question, is there a possibility to get fibre to my unit if the board doesn't want to do condo-wide fibre? Or is that not allowed/not worth the trouble?

Important information: Bell has an existing telecommunications agreement with the condo corporation, and the condo has 314 units.

If anyone else has gone through this or is trying to with their condo, let me know what has and hasn't worked for you. Thanks all.

Bad service Dead Zone We have noWiFi, the tech came here and could not get a signal. Years of poor service. Internet
Our area has poor service. The tech came out to see if we could upgrade our internet.  After testing there is next to zero signal in our Barrie location IN Town). Rogers yes, the only one signal he could find strength from a tower and we are not in Siberia.

Poor outdated phone service ,No cell phone connections unless with Rogers or TELUS. Neighbors are the same within ten houses. Sat signal is OK depending on season, no Fiber here. We had no phone service from Dec. to Xmas into the New Year, crackle and distortion. Tech said old copper cable 1950 corrosion . Bell does nothing to upgrade our area in Barrie. Stuck in limbo but service is working and no chance of upgrades to internet.
