Watch Bell Fibe from another house (in Canada)

fujib

While at home, I can watch Bell Fibe through my receiver or via Firestick to the Bell Fibe app.  If I go outside my house, I cannot access my TV services on a mobile device or by using my Firestick.   The message I get is that I am not subscribed to a streaming service. Is there any way I can watch my Bell Fibe TV service (preferably live channels) from someone else's house?  For what service do I need to subscribe?

Fibe TV app 101: "The what & how to use!"

Using the Fibe TV App

The Fibe TV app is included at no cost with Fibe TV and Satellite TV services.

You can use the Fibe TV app on multiple devices at once. Simply install the app on each device and enjoy.

Fibe TV service:

  • When connected to your home Bell Wi-Fi, you can have unlimited devices watching content simultaneously and unlimited devices registered. You can choose the "Easiest" way for connecting.
  • When not connected to your home Bell Wi-Fi, you can have three devices watching content simultaneously and five devices registered. To use the app remotely, you need to login with your MyBell credentials & have access to a Wi-Fi network. You would choose the "Best" way connecting in this case.

Fibe TV app service:

  • When connected to your home Bell Wi-Fi, you can have two devices watching content simultaneously and unlimited devices registered.
  • When not connected to your home Bell Wi-Fi, you can have two devices watching content simultaneously and five devices registered.

Thanks for the quick reply, Welsh Terrier.  What you provided is the way it is supposed to work.  I get a message saying that I have not subscribed to a streaming service.  That's the error I am trying to overcome.

Hi @fujib

Set aside the Firestick problem for the moment. I assume you're trying to use the Fibe TV app on your mobile device when you're out of the house.

There may be an issue when you try to watch your Fibe TV's live tv service  from another IP address. Are you connected to the other house's wifi network? Or are you on your ISP's data network.

Cheers,

ZaneP

Connected to other person's wifi so presumably have different IP address.

Hmmmm....when does this message pop up? It's a strange message to get while using your mobile device. Are you getting a successful login to the Fibe App?

You may want to empty the app's cache.

My Bell Fibe TV app no longer works on my phone if I am not at home.  It tells me that the contents are not available in this location.  It used to work anywhere in Canada.  Is there a solution to that issue

Well, that’s how the things are set at the moment. Three options when being a pay tv customer: login via tv provider acct. and watch on TSN.ca, pay for the other address or try to set a vpn based on your home address.

Is there a way, to share access to a family member who is temporarily not at home without sharing the MYBell credentials?

Good Day.

In order to use the Fibe TV app when you are not at home, you must use your MyBell credentials to login to your TV service.

we have two different internet providers, one at our camper and one at our residence. When my husband is at the camper and I am at our residence we can not both use fibe . Why is that? We have even made sure that only 4 devices were on the list.

I am confused. Are the two locations a distance from each other? We need more details about your Internet service to respond coherently. Please say more. Where is your Bell fibre modem?

Good Day.

Which Fibe service do you subscribe to?

Only one of you can watch live programming when one of you is trying to access the Fibe TV app at home & the other user is not connected to your home Bell Wi-Fi.

Fibe TV service:

When not connected to your home Bell Wi-Fi, you can have three devices watching content simultaneously, but only one can be watching live content, and five devices registered.
