We are paying for US long distance every month but when I call Anchorage, Alaska, I cannot get connected. Is Alaska included in the long distance we are paying? This is only happening when we use our Bell long distance phone.

If you call the U.S. from your Bell Home phone & you have the Unlimited Canada and U.S. Long Distance, Alaska is included.
Unlimited Canada and U.S.
Canada and United States unlimited calling is available to residential customers where access and technology permit. Applies to direct-dialed outbound calls to Canada and the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii, but excluding other U.S. territories), excluding toll-free calls.
Does this happen on every call? What happens when you direct dial a call to a working number in Alaska?
There are any number of factors affecting why a call can not be connected.
- The phone could be turned off.
- The voice messages are full or some other issue with the phone.
- Generally there is a temporary technical issue with their phone or line.
- The other possibility is that their phone is working ok and they don't want to hear from you. They might have blocked you and you might or might not know why. E.g. Call Privacy, Call Screen, Call Blocking, etc.
- It may have been dialed incorrectly.
- Network traffic from Canada to Alaska.
- Environment. Weather conditions, etc.
- Etc. etc.
If this is happening all of the time to various numbers that you are calling, I would suggest that you contact Bell Home phone technical support and ask the technician to look in to this for you. To reach Bell, please call: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial #611 from any Bell mobile device
