Caller ID and Name Display

When I call someone that does not have my number saved on their phone, they only see my number and not the name and the number together like I see with Rogers/FIDO subscribers.

Does anyone know what is the issue?

That is correct! I am 100% sure of this. I can not speak for Rogers or any other mobile supplier. Every supplier has some form of unique built in feature included in their customer account profile.

I copied the following off as it appears on the Roger web site. (You can also add a secondary authorized user name to your account on MyBell.)

Rogers: "How do I change my name (Caller ID) that others see when I call?"

  • Changing your Caller ID will also update the name that appears on your bill and in MyRogers wherever your phone number appears.
  • Changing a Caller ID will add a new name to the Wireless account, which means that person will be able to make plan changes and buy/remove optional services like add-ons and travel packs.
  • Your Caller ID will only appear for people that haven't saved your phone number as a contact. If the person you're calling has saved you on their phone's Contacts list, the name they've saved as a contact will display, along with your number."

Hopefully this has been of assistance to you.

Good Day & Welcome.

Hello @Kee . Caller Name Display is a feature included with standard Call Display and is available to Bell Mobility customers. It will automatically display the name and number of an incoming caller when the information is available.

You must have standard Call Display on your Bell Mobility phone line (included in the rate plan or as an add-on), as well as a mobile device compatible with Call Display.  Please check to see if Call Display is included as part of your rate plan.

The caller’s name will only be displayed if the feature is also provided by the caller’s network, and if the incoming call is not identified as private, unknown or anonymous. Caller Name Display is automatically added to your Bell Mobility phone line if you have Call Display.

The number will be stored on your phone whether you answer the call or not. The name and number of past callers will be logged on to your mobile device:

  • If your device offers this functionality.
  • If Caller Name Display is also provided by the caller’s network.
  • If the incoming call is not identified as private, unknown or anonymous).

Please refer to the following documents and video for further setup instructions on your Samsung Galaxy Smartphone.

Go to the Bell website. In your account, go to:
Service/Caller ID

You can change it to ON/OFF.
Also:

On your iPhone: Go to Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID.

On Android: Open the Phone app > Three dots (Menu) > Settings > Supplementary/Additional services > Show your caller ID.

hi @BrayBray

Bell site says that “Caller Name Display” is a feature available to Bell Mobility customers.

are you sure?

Third parties are used with cell phones for call display based on what the manufacturer programs.  Sometimes its wrong, and you have to contact this company to fix it.  Not sure if its the same company for all but I'm with Samsung and the company is called "Hiya"

Check to make sure you've got it enabled to appear.  On my samsung this is how:

In your settings do a search for "Caller id" then even if it is turned on select "caller id and spam protection", then at the bottom turn on "show your name and number"

Hope that helps

For some reason, some of my contacts don't show up, even ones that I have saved under my contacts show up as private name and number. I've checked through my caller settings and contacts settings, and every other setting I can think of on my phone. I've looked through the forums but haven't seen anyone else having this issue so thought I'd ask and see if I can get some help.

I'm on a prepaid plan, and have a Samsung galaxy a10s.

Thank you

How do I get my name to display on caller information?

Whenever I have ever received a call they all show up as known I've tried troubleshooting this problem myself but nothing seems to help

That page is about incoming caller ID (when receiving calls). It is not relevant to the op’s question which is about outgoing caller ID (when making calls).

I hope Bell brings the option of outgoing name display soon. Telus and Koodo got that feature last year. I hope it’s in the works and will be available to Bell customers soon.

Hi there,
It doesn't work. for me at all. So when I call someone that doesn't have my name and number saved in the phone book, they see only the phone number, not my name or caller ID, in my account. Bell does not appropriately dress it, and some new accounts have so many technical issues like that.

You have to dress it with IT support the customer service employees aren't capable of resolving the issue. I have addressed that  and they will investigate and call me.bqck tomorrow at noon.

Yes, they have to activate this feature for all costumers I guess.

I think you guys are wrong as Bell should have that service active for each costumer.

Hello everyone,

I have switched to Bel and realized some services are not available. I was with Koodo and I had a this service activated, but with Bell they said it is not activated at all and they can’t help me with that request. Does anyone know what is going on with Caller ID and Name Display service? Rogers/Fido/Koodo as by my best knowledge have this service active by default but no Bell. Does anyone has the same concern as I do and perhaps you have resolved it? Please let me know.
