Hey @Alberto. Welcome to the Community. That's a great question.

You can transfer the responsibility of your Bell residential service to someone in the same residence without service being interrupted. For more information check out our support article about How to transfer my Bell Home phone number to someone elseOpens in a new tab or window

If your inquiry is related to our mobility services, check out How to change ownership of my mobile phoneOpens in a new tab or window

Good Day & Welcome

Thank you for posting your concerns.

This is a community website. As such, we do not have access to your account and billing details. We would like to assist you in answering any questions you might have.

In order to do so, we would need for you to provide us with the specific details for each of the items you mentioned in your post. I have tried to capture your concerns in each of the following:

Transfer of Bell Account:

  • You can transfer a Bell account and contract to another person. This process is known as a "Change of Ownership" or "Transfer of Responsibility," and it allows the new person to take over the services and billing.
  • In order to do so, both the current and new account holders must be involved in the process, and the account must be in good standing with at least 6 months of active service.
  • We recommend that both parties be present for this call. Please contact Bell Customer Service at: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) during business hours.
  • For mobile accounts, Bell charges a one-time $50 transfer fee per phone. Please refer to the following weblink for details and instructions in how to transfer the mobility account into your name.

Bell Bundling & Promotions

  • Bell does offer promotions from time to time to new and existing accounts and services. For example: New activation of select devices with Bell SmartPay or Bring-your-own-device., etc.
  • When you applied for internet in April, which Bell service did you have? Were these services in your name or were they in someone else's name? E.g. Mobility service, Internet, Fibe TV, Home phone, etc.

I registered my device and number in my friend's name but trying to transfer it to my name has been difficult. I called many times and your agents keep giving me different numbers to call. the person who said she could do it said she will be charging me $10. Is this right? It is not also certain she did eventually because she had to create a new account for me. I am hoping Bell doesn't charge me for a service not rendered.

Also, I got home internet in April and I was assured the price is $50 since I am a pre-existing customer. But to my disappointment, the bill is $69.44. They said I would only be eligible if I consolidate my bills. Told them to do so but it is uncertain this was done.

I am so disappointed in Bell service and its agent because everyone I have spoken to seem not to understand how the technology works or even know what their role is in that office.

Please I need further clarifications and resolve of this issue. I am losing my patience. I cannot pay for a service not rendered to me

I have a friend who declared bankrupt in 2024 is she able to get her own line or do I have to stay stuck with her bill as well as mine and my partner’s bill? As I can’t keep paying for her bill too.

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

This is a community website. As such, we do not have access to your account and billing details. We would like to answer your question, but it is almost next to impossible for us to do so with the limited information that you have provided. In order to do so, we would need for you to provide us with the specific details.

If you wish to continue paying for your friend's services that are linked to your account, that is a decision that only you can make.

In order to transfer the responsibility of your Bell residential service to someone in the same residence without service being interrupted, then both of you must contact Bell in order to do so. For more information check out our support article about:

If your inquiry is related to your Bell Mobility services, check out:

In order to transfer any Bell service, both the current and new account holders must be involved in the process, and the account must be in good standing with at least 6 months of active service.

If your friend doesn’t already have a Bell account, Bell will need to do a credit check and will require 2 of the following pieces of ID: Date of birth or driver's license number; valid credit card number or social insurance number.

I can only suggest that both of you contact Bell Customer Service at: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) during business hours. A Bell service representative is in a much better position to answer any further questions you might have.

Take care.

HI1 Weird situation, My ex-husband is on our family account and we have a non-contact order in place.  I really need to get him off the account, since it's in my name, and we can't be on the same call together to do the transfer of responsibility.  Its a major privacy issue, and his phone it too expensive for me to pay.  What am I supposed to do?

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you @Newinnings for reaching out and posting your question.

We would like to assist you in this matter, but we are somewhat limited in what we can advise you to do in a family matter such as this. Have you discussed this with a lawyer?

You mentioned that the account is in your name. Do you wish to cancel this mobility service or transfer the responsibility of this service to your ex-husband? Is this phone on a monthly postpaid plan or do you have a device financing contract, Bell SmartPay 2-yr?

If you own the phone outright, you can choose to cancel the service and or transfer the ownership to your ex-husaband.

For further assistance, I would suggest that you contact Bell Customer Service accounts and billing. A Bell representative is in a better position to answer any further account related questions you might have.

Please call: 1-800-667-0123 or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

Take care.
