I am experiencing an incorrect blackout restriction on the TSN app

I am being blackout from TSN Toronto Maple Leaf games according to their streaming app because I am out of the Toronto region. The reason being my bell modem is assigning me an IP address from Ottawa Ontario. When I actually live in Belleville Ontario which is in the TSN Toronto Maple Leaf area, and I should not be being geographically blacked out by TSN. I have tried several times rebooting the modem and have received different IP addresses only they are all labeled as Ottawa IP Geo located.

TSN streaming is something I have paid hundreds of dollars for, I should not be being blocked because Bell cannot correctly identify my location by wrongly assigning me an address from a city I do not even live in 3 hours away from Ottawa

Good afternoon @DanD61

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell community 🙂

We can understand how frustrating this must be, especially when you've paid for a TSN subscription to watch Maple Leafs games.

To start, if you are using a VPN please disable it and test to see if you are able to catch the next game.

If you are not using a VPN, and since you've already rebooted the modem multiple times and received different IP addresses with the same result, we recommend contacting TSN Support directly. They can investigate the geolocation information being used by their streaming platform and determine whether a correction is required.

You can also find the TSN blackout checker tool so you can verify eligibility, some extra troubleshooting tips and contact details on the TSN support page :  I am experiencing a blackout incorrectlyOpens in a new tab or window

Let us know how everything goes,

I am having this issue as well. My public IP address is consistently showing my location as Ottawa, Ontario, even though I live in the Greater Toronto Area. I am not using a VPN, and I have restarted my modem multiple times, but the issue persists. The issue is on Bell's end.

Experiencing something similar. I live in MB, and my cell phone’s IP address’ location is in Sudbury, ONT. This only started around a week ago.

I went into a Bell store to ask in person why this is and the employee told me that all phones purchased from Bell will have a Sudbury IP address. I gave him a confused look, turned around and walked out.
I am waiting for Bell’s tech service to correct this. If they don’t, I will have no choice but to leave Bell. Ugh.
