On the Home hub 4000 under advanced there is a toggle for SIP ALG. What does it do and should it be on or off.

Thank you.

Hi @OJ
Yes, if you put "192.168.2.1" into a web-browser, it will bring up your modem GUI.

Good Day & Welcome @OJ

The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is a secure, built-in website that allows you to manage your modem's settings through a web browser.

Your modem is only accessible if you’re currently on your home network. The administrator password is used to access the modem’s settings. When prompted, enter the administrator password.

To access your Bell modem, (GUI) :

  1. Open your web browser and visit bell.ca/mymodem or enter 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.
  2. Click on Modem login
  3. Enter the administrator password.
  4. Select > Login
  5. To access the SIP ALG setting: Select >  Advanced Tools and Settings, and you will see the SIP ALG setting under the Networking section.

Unless you’ve changed it, here’s how you can find the default password depending on your modem:

  • Giga Hub 2.0/Giga Hub/Home Hub 4000 : Press the up/down arrows on the front of the modem until "Modem Management" is selected and press OK.
  • Home Hub 3000 : Use the serial number located on the sticker on the back of the modem.

If you wish to change your modem administrator password, you can do so:

  1. Select > Modem preferences.
  2. Type the current admin password in the Current password field.
  3. Type a new password in the New password field.
  4. Type the new password once more in the Confirm password field.
  5. Click Save.

Let the Community know if you have any more questions.

Take care.

Are you using equipment before the Bell modem, or is your computer directly connected to the Bell modem?

You may want to try VOIP.ms or try to test VOIP via this link.

An excellent suggestion. If you look for a server in the test, use New York or Chicago, as there are no Canadian servers listed.
