2026 Price Increase

I have just paid my first bill since returning to Bell. Imagine my surprise when I saw that there will be a rate increase (6$) in February. I am not impressed. If this is how you're going to operate, I may have to reconsider my move back to Bell.

Why can Bell raise my monthly rate without informing me, and take the money from my bank?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Thank you @ms02 for posting your question.

This is a community forum, a peer-to-peer site. As such, we do not have access to your account or billing records. Billing questions such as this cannot be handled on this website. A service representative is in a better position to answer your question.

Bell, along with other major telecommunications providers in Canada, offers promotions to new customers. These promotions act as "loss-leaders" designed to expand market share. The expectation is that these customers will remain after the promotional period. These promotions are generally competitive, limited time offers for new customers having specific terms and conditions attached to them. At the end of the promotion, the price may increase.

Pricing change notifications are sent out at least 30 to 90 days in advance. Notices can be seen directly through your MyBell account.

If you wish to see these, then you would need to:

  1. Sign into your MyBell account
  2. Select "My bills and payments"
  3. Select "Past bills"
  4. Select the "View" button beside the bill that you would like to see
  5. At the top there will be spot that says "Messages for _______" and a (+) sign that you can click to review the important messages.

Additionally, should you receive paper bills, the notice will be at the top of each service under the billing details (if applicable).

I can only suggest that you contact Bell Customer Service at 1-866-310-BELL (2355) to discuss this further.

If you have any further questions, please let the Community know.

Take care.

Can bell put the important messages like price increase on email/ebill? For immediate awareness (suggested by cx)

Good Day & Welcome

Thank you @ariel for posting your question.

Important Messages such as a price increase are shown on Bell's ebill.

Official service changes and legal notifications are printed directly onto your monthly statement. You can choose to view or print all of these Important Messages as shown on your Bell ebill. Please refer to these instructions:

  1. Log into your MyBell account online.
  2. Go to the My bills and payments tab.
  3. Select > My bill.
  4. Select your Current bill or Past bill.
  5. Scroll down to the: Detailed bill section & select > Download / Print (PDF format).
  6.  Important Messages are listed on the left side of the ebill page beside each of your Bell services. Scroll down the page to view any messages that are included with your monthly Bell ebill.
Pricing change notifications are sent out at least 30 to 90 days in advance. Notices can also be seen directly through your MyBell account. There is a dedicated section online in the My bills and payments (blue section) called: Important Messages.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Take care.

in I year with no changes to my services, bell has increased my bill over 25%.  I don’t understand how they can justify this.  I will certainly be moving my business

So, on July 24, 2026 I received an email from Bell saying "You are receiving a complimentary Crave Premium subscription, on us" and I thought "That was nice".  Then I received an email on September 11, 2026 from Bell saying "You‘ve been upgraded to TSN Premium!"  Again, I thought "That was nice".  Now, I received my latest bill from Bell and surprise, surprise - my Bell Fibe TV bill INCREASED by $5.00!  So, it seems that these "free" additions weren't really "free".

Given that the price of Crave and TSN premium services are more than $7, you might consider them discounted.,

That is an unfair statement. It's as if I were doing groceries and someone added candy to my cart worth 7$ and then I get to the cash and they give me a 2$ discount on the candy. I never wanted the candy in the first place! Stop adding things to my cart automatically, raising my bill, and defending it by telling me it's a great deal.

That’s one way to see the offer. You can also ignore it and deal with the price increase. You can put the candy back, as well, to use your analogy. But the price of bananas in your basket still went up. As consumers, we have some choices.

I never asked for these "free" services, so why should I pay your supposed discount?  So if I remove the "free" Crave and TSN Premium, will I get my $5 back??
