I share your frustration. It is compunded by my first experience a mont ago with Bell's support line. I called the TV/Internet group and over a 50 minute period of advice such as "un-plug and wat a minute before plugging you Tv back in" I was called away to another appointment. The tech team said they would escalate the issue to others and then promised to call back in an hour. Well they've never called back but what they did do - without my kowledge or permission- was factory reset my modem. Okay not a big deal to rename and redo the password but the reset had the effect of knocking all my nest cameras off the network. I don't have the boxes for them with the re-set codes and to get them I have to someone climb ladders to find QR codes on the devices themselves. I've ben cilipping senio citizen discounts for quite a few years fyi. So not springing up ladders anymore. Anyway not pleased - the tech huys were just guessing and had no idea about an issue that was already being moderated in this community forum.

Subject: Escalation Request – Bell Fibe TV App Incompatible with Sony BRAVIA 7 (K-65XR70) Android TV 14

I am requesting that this issue be escalated to the Fibe TV App Engineering team, as it appears to be a compatibility issue rather than an account or hardware problem.

TV Information

  • Sony BRAVIA 7
  • Model: K-65XR70
  • Platform: AE2
  • Android TV OS: Version 14
  • Build: BRAVIA_AE2_NA-user 14 UKN4.250422.001 (602050)
  • Security Patch: March 5, 2026

Problem
The Bell Fibe TV app worked correctly until approximately mid-June 2026.

Since then:

  • The app launches normally.
  • The TV Guide loads correctly.
  • When selecting a live TV channel, the screen briefly turns black and then immediately returns to the Guide.
  • Live TV cannot be viewed.

The issue persists after:

  • Rebooting the TV.
  • Rebooting the Bell modem.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Bell Fibe TV app.
  • Confirming the TV firmware is current.

Other streaming applications continue to function normally on the television, and the Bell service works correctly on other devices, indicating that the issue appears isolated to the Bell Android TV application on this Sony platform.

I have also located reports from other Sony BRAVIA owners experiencing the same behaviour beginning in mid-June 2026, suggesting this is not an isolated incident.

Please escalate this report to the Fibe TV App development team for investigation and advise whether a compatibility fix is planned.

Would you please give us a progress status. Thanks, (a Bell customer for over 20 years)

My Sony A95L only works only once for the Bell app after a restart .. after that i have to restart the TV by holding the power button for 5 seconds and wait a few minutes everytime i want to watch Bell channels from the app . This is so annoying and a waste of time ..When will Bell fix their app ?

Thank you for your question. Bell does acknowledge that there are some issues with certain Sony Bravia models and that the matter is being worked on. No date for resolution is available. Please see the helpful replies with the green checkmark. ✔️

I also have a Sony Bravia TV with the XR processor, as the A95L does. I have had no issues with the Fibe app, so it may be model related. I see that Sony has released a large number of firmware upgrades for their TVs with the XR processer in late June (mine is dated 26/06/23). If you have not done so, you might try upgrading the firmware.  There is no guarantee that will resolve the issue, however.
