Recording with Satellite TV vs. Fibe TV

I am considering converting from Satellite TV to Fibe TV. One of the biggest issues seems to be the difference in recording content. Satellite TV is simple - record to the PVR in the receiver, content stays there as long as you want or until you reach the max # of hours (I never have). Recording from Fibe TV (even with a 7802 box) is all to the Cloud and only remains for 60 days.

So, that's a big issue. It also sounds like we'll have to upgrade our tvs at the same time 2 of the 3 are not Smart tvs, but still work just fine.  And there seem to be multiple other issues with Fibe. Right now I'm leaning towards just sticking with Satellite TV.

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your comments & concerns with respect to the differences in recordings and their availability for future viewing.

Fibe TV is a cloud-based storage system for all of your recordings. You can store up to 320 hours of recordings, regardless of resolution, for up to 60 days. Your satellite PVR stores the recording on an internal hard drive.

If you are on Bell Satellite TV and you are using the Fibe TV App, recordings will remain solely on the device or app they were scheduled on. In order to watch a Satellite TV recording on the Fibe TV app, you must schedule the recording using the Fibe TV app & vice versa when you are using a satellite receiver.

There are many different ways to watch Fibe TV. A Smart TV is just one example of how you can view Fibe TV. You can also download the Fibe TV app on to your TV, streaming device, mobile device or watch from a computer.

Do your older TV's have HDMI input ports? If so, you can plug in any number of available streaming devices to watch Fibe TV. E.g. Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, etc.

I have included the following weblink for your consideration:

Fibe TV device compatibility | Bell Support

Take care.
