What does error 1008a on Channel 236 (Fibe TV App) mean?

I am a satellite customer and am getting an error when trying to watch this channel in the Fibe app. It used to work. It works on the satellite. I have the Fibe app set to only show channels that are available on the device and this channel is showing in the guide.
Error is 1008a

 Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for posting your question.

Can you please provide us with some further details? You mentioned that you are using the Fibe TV app to view this station.

Are you trying to view this channel from at home or from another location?

What are using as a streaming device to view this channel? Smart TV, Firestick, Apple TV, etc.

Error code 1008a on the Bell Fibe TV app generally indicates an off-air channel or a temporary stream playback failure. This is frequently tied to local network issues, app cache corruption, or an unsupported browser/device state.

For example, if you are using a Fire Stick, this typically indicates a problem with the Wi-Fi connection. To fix this, you can try restarting your Firestick, clearing the app's cache and data, or updating your Firestick's software.

Are you able to download the Fibe TV app on to any other device to see if you can replicate this same issue? Are you able to access this same channel by way of a computer by logging into Fibe TV using a web browser?

Let us know.

Take care.

I am a Community All-Star and customer. I'm here to help by sharing my knowledge and experience. My views on Bell and the Community Forum are my own and not the views of Bell or any of its affiliates.

I have tested on 3 devices and it’s the same error on each. All other channels are good. I don’t have bell internet but I have tested on WiFi and 5G and same error.

Hi @Jimmy4
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share which station your referring to and what the channel number is that you're experiencing this on?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Any updates? The channel is now completely removed from the guide. Do better Bell.

Can you inquire as to the status of this?
