Found an older Vista 390. Works great on my Line in Ottawa. I want to delete the services. Forgot the procedure. I did reset the clock to JAN 1 12:00AM and then MUTE and then #, and the telephone set does appear to be defaulted, but the promotions for services reappear. I tried to select "OPTIONS" and then Services (6) but delete service softkey does not appear for the entry. Remind of the proceddure or do I have to call into some auto-modem to delete this off the older Vista AASTRA 390 Phone set?
added: the Bell operator manual for the Vista390 described the feature as "enhanced telephone company subscription features".

Playing with telephone history is fun. In response to your question, I found an 18 year old thread on digitalhome.ca which suggests the Bell servers for that phone have been disconnected. Deleting services may not be possible. However, there may be some useful information for you in there.

Well it pays to dig.
I found a 17year old thread that is the exact answer:
As of 2008:
WARNING: This procedure will permanently erase the Callers List and Directory in your 390 telephone. Please record important names and numbers before implementing this procedure. This procedure disables the programming of the idle screen, so it will not only get rid of the ads permanently but you will also lose the ability to program any of the softkeys on the idle screen as well.
1) Press the Options button (the short button below the orange Goodbye button)
2) Press the Down Arrow 4 times or until the cursor points to Area Code and press Show
3) Press the Down Arrow 2 times or until it points to entry 3. (of Area Code)
4) Press Change
5) Enter 0099 and press Done 2 times to return to the Options Menu
6) Press Up Arrow 3 times or until the cursor points to Time/Date and press Show
7) Set the Date and Time to Jan 01 12:00am and press Done
[8] Press Goodbye to return to the idle screen and verify the Date and time are correct
Before the time changes to 12:01am perform the next step (if the time does change, return to step 7)
9) Press these keys in sequence: Option, Mute, 0 (zero) [once for each}
Your telephone will reset and the Ad message will be permanently erased.
