Adding a Chamberlin smart hub for Garage door opener to bell hub 2000 LTE

I am in a rural location, I am using a Bell modem 2000, I have tried to connect a new Chamberlain garage door smart hub so I can open my garage remotely, this should be a simple task but that does not seem to be the case.

The Chamberlin hub uses the myq app you start on the app by connecting via Bluetooth, then it tries to find the network but fails every time to find anything.

I engaged Chamberlin support, they asked me to try setting the  wireless to channel 6, speed to 2.4 g  set an open port for this device, as the router only allows for a discovered device I had to change the subnet  so both bell router & smart hub where on the same network.  still did not fix the issue.

does anyone know of a work around

Hi @jennera

I recently setup a Chamberlain garage hub using MyQ app with no issues connecting to my Bell modem and without needing to configure any modem settings. Make sure you are not using any firewalls, vpns or even antivirus during the setup phase.

in the past, I had problems connecting to apps that may not accept certain special characters. I would recommend trying to change your network name using only alphabetical characters and numbers.

I’m assuming you already tried the basic deleting the app and reinstalling. The only other recommendation I can think of is trying to connect using a different device to eliminate your phone or tablet being the culprit.

good luck.

Interesting did I you set a chamberlain up on a hub 2000 that uses the LTE service?

I have tried on an android & an apple phone.
If I use my apple phone on a bell Fibe router. Works ok.
I have set these up on other  systems with no issue.
virus protection doesn’t really enter in the issue the bell 2000 does not have virus software as far as I am aware bell don’t install this, the phones don’t have virus software on them.
Bell told everyone there was a firewall but I can see no settings in the mode to enable or disable which is a concern.
It would be nice to find what the issue is here
