Bell Wifi pods don't play nicely with work VPN when switching which pod is closest

When I am in my office upstairs and connect to my work VPN, eveything works fine. However, if I move downstairs (thus in theory switching to a different pod) my internet becomes slow. If I disconnect from work VPN and reconnect without moving spots, the internet becomes fast again. Is this due to the fact that the established VPN connection is somehow linked to wifi pod I was connected to at the time?

It's not linked, but your LAN path likely changes when you connect to a different pod. You would have to run a traceroute to let's say 1.1.1.1 without VPN connection, move to the second location and do the same. I am thinking your actual path, or local LAN address might change.

I don't have pods so I don't know how they actually handle connections, but that would be an easy test.
