Since it's a long wait for phone support, and Chat has apparently been disabled, and there is no email address available for support, I'll post this here. What choice do I have? Anyway a sender with whom I've exchanged emails with previously got a 'Message Blocked" error when emailing me today. They forwarded me the message they received, and technical details just say "The response from the remote server was 554 Access Denied." This is a vague message. Their original message came through later, and obviously I received the error message they forwarded to me, but this is work-related, and my contact is concerned that I might miss important urgent emails. I;d forward the error message to Bell support, if I had an email address to send it to.
Any ideas? This was around 3:30pm today.

Hi @Beelzebobby
When there's an issue with a recipient's email server, the sender's email server will make multiple attempts to resend, over several days.
From what you wrote, the sender's email was successfully received. So I think this issue is resolved, unless you're still hearing from people saying they got a bounce-back message when they sent you an email.

My sister has received this exact same thing emailing me twice now. Did a solution ever come up?

No, I never learned what actually causes this error. I guess it was difficult to troubleshoot because it only happened once.

I am having the same issue. Since last week (May 2024) I have heard from 2 different gmail senders that some gmail messages are not being received in my sympatico account while all email from other domains continues to be received without issue. The senders of the gmail messages to me have noted the following error: "Message Blocked. The response from the remote server was: 554 Access Denied". I have not received the original emails yet but the sender has tried a short time later, sending me another email and I receive it no problem. Very perplexing as it seems to be only gmail users and only sometimes. Could there be any type of setting that sympatico is interpreting it as spam or containing a virus and blocking it?

Did you ever get an answer to this issue as I have been having the same problem since May of 2024. I am using GMail to send the Email and getting "554 Access Denied" from both Sympatico.ca and Bell.ca (Bell owns Sympatico).

No, I did not get a reply. The problem went away. What I did do, and not sure if it did anything, was I removed the spam filter block via my Bell webmail. Instead of blocking the emails completely, it marks them with spam and na rule in Outlook puts them in the junk folder. I am now getting a bunch of additional junk mail but my sender no longer has an issue.
