Does WiFi calling have to be transferred to a new phone?

I just got a new replacement and so far I've been using my old Samsung A71 for text, calling and wifi calling since I don't have cell service where I live. Could I put my sim card into the new phone and the wifi calling still work or would I have to re register it in a cell service area

You device must connect to the network in order to register your new device. Once connected with your new device to the network, you will then need to set up a Wi-Fi connection on your device in order to use Wi-Fi calling. You will then need to turn on the Wi-Fi calling feature on your device..
