International text messages in mobile plan and roaming in Europe

I have the Ultd Share Ultimate 2-yr 100US plan on my phone. Features include "Can-Can/US/Int Messaging - Unlimited" This feature is really not explained on the Bell website. Does this mean only unlimited texting to international sites from Canada, or does it also include unlimited texting using my phone from international sites to Canada ?

Please see highlights: While in Canada.

Sent texts include texts sent to a U.S. or International phone number while in Canada and excludes texts sent to a landline, roaming, alerts, premium texts (short codes), and texts sent with an instant messaging application. Received texts include texts received while in Canada from a U.S. or International phone number and service-related texts from Bell and exclude roaming and premium texts (short codes), alerts or dial-up texts. Overage rates may apply. Certain International destinations not available. See bell.ca/internationaltext for details.

Hi, I'm traveling to Europe tomorrow. I want to know if my SIM card is supported in Germany and France. If yes, what are the roaming charges?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

We do not have access to your account and billing information on the Bell Community Forum. In order answer your question, can you please provide us with further details in terms of the mobility plan that you subscribe to with Bell? Monthly or pre-paid?

Roam Better – with home data is available to customers on most monthly plans. Phones on Prepaid plans will not work in the US and International destinations as roaming is not available for Prepaid.

If you have a Prepaid plan, then you would need to change your plan to a monthly plan.

Roam Better – with home data, you can use the data from your Mobility rate plan plus get unlimited talk and text for $16/day. You will only pay for the days that you use your device while roaming.

If you are on a monthly plan, then all you need to do to get Roam Better – with home data is simply text ROAM to 8000 or add Roam Better in MyBell. Once Roam Better – with home data has been added to your account, you’ll be covered for all future trips to the U.S. and over 200 international destinations. There is no need for you to change your SIM card.

To remove Roam Better - with home data, simply text REMOVEROAM to 8000 or remove it in MyBell.

I have included the following web links that will assist in answering any further questions you might have.

How do I use my mobile phone outside Canada and how much will it cost?

Am I charged extra for text messages from the UK and Europe with my plan

Good Day.

This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account & billing records. It is somewhat difficult to answer your question with little to no information being provided by you.

We would like to assist you, but in order to do so, you will need to us with your plan & what is included.

As a starting point, you mentioned text message charges from UK Europe with my plan.

  1. Are you in Canada?
  2. Do you have a monthly plan?
  3. Does your plan include unlimited calling, texting and data in Canada?
  4. Does it include unlimited international texting?

If you can answer yes to these four points, then yes, you can send texts to & receive texts from the UK & Europe. Please review the inclusion & exclusion details that are included in the note below.

Note: Sent texts include texts sent to a U.S. or International phone number while in Canada and excludes texts sent to a landline, roaming, alerts, premium texts (short codes), and texts sent with an instant messaging application. Received texts include texts received while in Canada from a U.S. or International phone number and service-related texts from Bell and exclude roaming and premium texts (short codes), alerts or dial-up texts. Overage rates may apply. Certain International destinations not available. See bell.ca/internationaltext for details.
