Malware on phone

I suspect that my phone has a virus that has resulted in accounts used on phone being compromised.

Does the affect my sim card.

I have ordered a new phone and don't want to insert my existing sim card if the virus could affect my new phone.

Good morning, @KCYYC . Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.

Malware is extremely diverse in what it does and does not impact on any device - a phone, a PC, etc. As the Community is a peer-to-peer support channel and we do cannot physically treat your phone, we couldn't offer anything but speculation.

As is the case for any suspected scam or security risk, you're better off safe than sorry. You can immediately replace your SIM card at any Bell retail location - if you're unsure where to find one, you can make use of our Store LocatorOpens in a new tab or window

Best wishes.
