I’ve been a loyal Bell customer for many years, and as I approach what may be my final two years with the company, I find myself increasingly concerned about the reliability of mobile service in my area. While coverage has always been a challenge in my small town, it seems to have deteriorated over time rather than improved.
My work requires me to be on the road from morning until evening. I provide in-home support, transport clients to medical appointments, and assist them with errands. In these situations, dependable mobile service is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. I need to know that, in the event of an emergency, I can contact help without delay.
Frankly, it’s 2025. With today’s technology and the high monthly costs associated with service plans and new devices, consistent and reliable coverage should be expected—especially in areas that have struggled for years.
Can you please advise whether there are any plans to improve mobile infrastructure in Digby County, such as adding new towers or enhancing existing service?
I also want to acknowledge that if my decision to stay with Bell were based solely on customer service, I would never consider leaving. Bell’s customer service team has consistently been excellent. But in an emergency, it’s not an amazing human with great customer skills that will save my life—it’s the service itself. And that service is what’s falling short.
I sincerely hope to continue with Bell, but I must have a network I can depend on—for my safety and the safety of those I serve.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Frustrated with Bell Service
Digby County, Nova Scotia

Hi there, @Service_Blues. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.
Firstly, we'd like to thank you for your comments on our customer service. 🙂 Our representatives are always glad to help and strive to do their best to do so.
With that said, it is unfortunate to hear about your experience otherwise with your reception. Have you spoken to our Tech Support team already and confirmed that it is an issue with local towers? Regrettably, we're unable to comment as to any future construction of new towers or upgrades to existing towers. These matters are very much in flux, and any kind of ETA could be subject to change for a number of reasons.
Otherwise if you haven't confirmed it to be an issue with local infrastructure, please take the time to review the following questions so we can be better able to assist:
- How long have you been having issues with your service in Digby County?
- Have you tried changing the network settings in your phone? Sometimes forcing your phone to use LTE instead of using 5G may stabilize your reception.
- Have others in your area complained as to similar issues?
- What troubleshooting steps have you personally done so far?
- Have you got in touch with our technical support team to open a ticket? If so, were they able to provide you with further info and/or details?
The more details, the better - it'll go a long way in terms of any assistance we provide, as well as any future investigation if needed.
Looking forward to hearing back from you. Best wishes.
