Prepaid plan Automatic Charging if going over 100 minutes

If I have a prepaid plan for 100 minutes per month why can't Bell use an automated message to interrupt on the call that is about to go over the 100 minute mark and tell the customer the 100 minutes is about to be up?  Could you not at the very least give the customer an automated interrupting reminder message during the call? How about, "You are about to start paying  the ridiculous rate of 50 cents a minute . . . would you like to terminate this call or continue at this rate?"  I know the auto charge is in the small print but it is still greasy.  All kinds of monitoring tech on usage and every other metric known to man is available and used but implementing an automated message to inform the customer they are about to start paying a highly inflated rate for a phone call is too complex?  50 cents for the next minute!  Uh, yeah, sounds like a great idea.  No thanks, I will hang up now and wait until the next top up to go through!  Easy enough but not given that option.  I'm sure this post won't change a thing.  I only got my BELL rung for $3 and my main beef is the fact that the customer is never given an option to end the call that is about to push them over the monthly limit.  I expect the interrupting message option is just too hard for the telecommunications industry to figure out . . . yeah that's it, won't happen again, my bad.  Feel better . . . hmm . . . little bit.  Good enough!

Telecommunication Biz 101: Nickel and dime the customer to millions in profits.  It works . . . because we let it.

Hi there, @BillBixby. Welcome to the Bell Community.

Thank you for your feedback; we take customer input very seriously. 🙂

In the future, if you do find yourself going over your monthly allotment of minutes regularly, we'd recommend considering looking into a new plan as well. You can review your plan and check out other available options by logging into MyBell and going to My PlanOpens in a new tab or window

Have a great day.
