How do I get my Bell Fibe TV to automatically switch viewing to the program being recorded?

Have you tried selecting the channel station that is being recorded to view live?

Gees. Thanks, Welsh Terrier. That question of mine is pretty vague.

I want to use a timer or something to automatically switch to the program (channel) that is being recorded so that I can record it to another DVR type portable device.

Thank you for explaining your earlier question.

There is no timer built in that will automatically switch the program being recorded for you to view, playback or record on the same or another device. 

You can view what is being recorded & you can record what is being viewed. You can schedule recordings. You can playback recordings for viewing. There is no mechanism built in to automatically switch from one to the other to simultaneously record on an external device.

You probably can let an android phone to search for a specific recording at a specific time on the DVR at most with third-party apps, maybe with Shortcut app and Google Home on iOS too.
