Is it essential to have PVR with Fibe TV?

Yes & no….. If you have Bell Fibe TV service, it automatically comes with a physical PVR or a Cloud PVR. These are free features required to record, playback, etc. . You do not have to use these features, but they are there for your use.

If your preference is is to simply watch tv programming, no recording, playback, pause, etc. then you can choose to cancel your Fibe TV service package and choose the Fibe TV App or Fibe TV + Internet package. If you choose this, you will no longer have the pvr features & you will be streaming Fibe TV via the internet.
