I have successfully recorded on the satellite receiver/pvr. in the past. The challenge is that I am recording the Scotties and now the Briar. So, while those games are being recorded we are presently watching a hockey game. When the recording ends, the tv automatically switches to the end of the recording (the curling game) and shuts the hockey game off! (Usually in an exciting spot!) I set the recording to record the program immediately following the curling game incase the games into 11 ends and I do not want to miss that! I cannot get back to the hockey game! I have shut the tv off, waited several minutes, gone back to the guide and choose the hockey game, and painfully, finally, it does goes go back to the game. I hope this is not too confusing. So, the question is Why at the end of the recording is it shutting off the channel I'm watching?

Thank you for your question. On the Bell satellite receivers you can have a maximum of two channel feeds active at once. If you are recording one event and watching another event live, that is two active feeds. If you have a second timer programmed to start recording another event, the receiver will cut away from the live program you are watching, to the second recording, continuing with two active feeds. You cannot return to the live event where you left it as it has not been recorded. This most often happens as programs overlap as they start and stop recording. It is a technical limitation of the PVR recorders. I hope that explanation is helpful. If I have not been clear, ask for clarification.
