Using PPPoE and DMZ / Advanced DMZ for 'Bridge Mode' use of 3rd Party router on the HH4000 & Giga Hub

It would be great if Bell could confirm if they are going to update the FW on the HH4000 to enable a true bridge mode setup...also to stop the Wifi from automatically re-enabling itself anytime the HH4000 reboots itself. These are two MAJOR issues right now with the HH4000 and posted about on many forums (not just here).

It would be great if someone from Bell could chime in and let the community know if it is actually going to address these issues or not? If not, please explain why and please do not point to advanced DMZ as a solution because that doesn't actually work very well and severely impacts the performance on the Google Mesh (or any other pre-existing mesh setup). This is also discussed on many forums both on this one and externally by your customers.

We do realize the HH4000 is relatively new so there can be some improvements. We, as a community, just want to know if Bell plans to make those improvements or not.

Thanks for your thoughts, The Bell Giga Hub does not always play nice with some 2.5 Gb network cards. The Giga Hub uses PPPoE passthrough. The use of DMZ can have variable results, as you are discovering. There are lots of ideas that you can try in this thread, especially the helpful replies with the green checkmark.

I am experiencing a routing failure between my Bell Giga Hub (2.5Gbps port) and a TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro. The Deco reports a "Healthy" internet connection, and hardwired LAN clients connected to the Deco have full internet access. However, all wireless (Wi-Fi) clients connected to the Deco have "No Internet Access" despite a successful local handshake.

I tried both methods without success; Advanced DMZ and PPPoE Passthrough.

I confirmed Cat6e cabling between Bell /2.5G port and Deco 2.5G port. Verified non-overlapping subnets (Bell: 192.168.2.x | Deco: 192.168.99.x)

ok so after a lot of trial and error got a good setup but speed is no where where  it should be directly

on the hub was hitting 2485 out of my 3.0 so it was good since im on lan 2.5 

turned off everything in the hub 4000 wifi and so on hdcp server and dns put the only 1 option on dmz if i switch to advanced nothing work 

so 1 layer of dmz to my asus x88u rooter and now my  internal lan transfert 2.5 speed are back to normal hence why i wanna use this rooter

in the rooter setup internet PPPoE user and pass and that it im online but 

 

any setting and it seem im capped at 800meg out of 2.5 wich kinda . the rep told me i was eable to use my rooter

 

and use this as a bridge grrr ill give a bit more time and maybe

ill switch to commercial  10$ more a month but modem is eable to bridge mode 100%
