Since July 2026, I’ve gone through four Gigahub 1.0 units, and every single one has failed in the exact same way. As soon as the modem auto‑updates to firmware 3.11.6.2, the entire Wi‑Fi system becomes unusable.
All three wireless bands — 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6E — stop accepting connections. Devices can see the SSIDs, but they cannot connect (either unable to connect or a "incorrect password" erorr message on my wireless devices). The only devices that continue to work are the ones connected by ethernet.
Troubleshooting I’ve already done
I’ve tried every standard and advanced reset option available:
-
Factory reset
-
Reboot through the Gigahub interface
-
Hard power cycle (unplugged for 10 minutes)
-
Enabling whole‑home Wi‑Fi (and then disabling it again)
-
Disabling IPv6 (added in 3.11.6.2)
-
Enabling guest Wi‑Fi
None of these steps restore Wi‑Fi functionality.
What Bell support has done so far
Each time I contact support, the only solution offered is a modem replacement at the Bell store. On Monday, August 10th, 2026, the rep noticed my modem was brand‑new and booked an in‑person technician for the same day.
The technician arrived, swapped the modem again, and refused to stay to observe the firmware update or diagnose the issue. He simply said the modem would update during its power cycle or overnight maintenance.
What happened today
It’s now 6:30 AM EST, and I woke up to find the exact same problem. Overnight, the Gigahub 1.0 updated itself to 3.11.6.2, and once again all Wi‑Fi is dead. My entire network is down except for my two hardwired desktop PCs.
Why I’m posting
I’m extremely frustrated and feel like I’m getting nowhere. Four modems, same firmware, same failure. I’m hoping someone at Bell or in the community can provide insight, escalate this, or confirm whether this firmware version is known to break Wi‑Fi on Gigahub 1.0 units.

Hi @mpettit
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to try a factory reset of your modem to see if that resolves the issue you're experiencing?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Hey @mpettit I was able to get this resolved by contacting Level 2 support and speaking with a technician. He did some additional troubleshooting, but ultimately, the only fix was to factory reset the modem, wipe the device, and then manually reinstall the latest firmware. I've had no issues since, even with multiple reboots.

This should be dealt with in the open, as this is not a unique issue for that user. I'm having the exact same issue -- on top of all the ones introduced via firmware update several months ago, which effectively broke home networking and media server usage. The only apparent way forward is to turn off smart home wifi and "uncombine" the frequency bands, which is very inconvenient and only solves this most recent problem.
These firmware updates and their too-smart-by-half measures that break basic functionality have convinced me to drop Bell as soon as I'm able. I just want things to work.

As this relates to firmware and those updates will inevitably be pushed even after a reset, would that help?
I'll perform one, though note that the reset process specifically warns "Resetting your modem should only be done when instructed by a Bell technician. It erases settings and you’ll need to reconfigure the modem."

@earlybird91 thanks for that -- how involved was that process once you reached the technician? (i.e. a half day?)
@BellNick I've now performed a factory reset and while at first the issue seemed resolved within 20 minutes it recurred, suggesting that the auto firmware update once again broke the internal network connections. How can I have this escalated to a Level 2 support person as indicated above?

@mpettit My second call to Level 2 (which was the call that fixed it) lasted 33minutes, so it can be fixed relatively quickly. Check your DMs; I messaged you some extra details that might be helpful.
