4K Fibe TV app

Would be really nice if the Bell TV app supported 4K on Apple TV and not have to rent additional hardware for this service.

That is all

Thank you

Hi @LearningToKnow
There was a temporary bug between the Fibe TV App and Apple tvOS 26.3 which has now been fixed, which is why the channels are now appearing for you.

@Edison53 Please bear with us while we investigate your concern further. Once we have further information we will let you know.

@LearningToKnow would love to know how you managed this. What service package do you have, if I may ask?

@BellNick absolutely. Thanks for whatever you can do.

I apologize if I wasn't clear earlier. We didn't "manage" anything. As @BellNick indicated, our situation was a result of the tvOS updating to version 26.3 (now resolved).

We have the "Best" Fibe TV package.

I hope your situation is resolved soon.

One of the many people I spoke to at Bell said I could get the 4k channels if — among the good, better, best packages — I chose “better”, which would be an astonishing $83 more. Do you happen to remember which package you have?

Please see my reply of 7:17 pm today.

Ah! Missed that somehow. Thanks!

Hi @Edison53
Upon looking further into this, to access 4K content, you need to have our Fibe TV subscription with a Bell receiver or have a subscription to our equipmentless Fibe TV and the 4K content will be available through the Fibe TV App. If you are subscribed strictly to the Fibe TV App Subscription / ALT TV or Satellite, 4K content will not be available.

Thanks. This is what I find so aggravating: 4k is not available via my Fibe app, but *is* available via my Fibe app if I have an “equipment less” Fibe subscription (which, in practical terms, is what I have had for years). What you are telling me is Bell has two products with the same name: (1) the former Alt service, long since called Fibe, which does not require Bell equipment and (2) the current “equipment less” Fibe. Very confusing, but thank you for clarifying. Now to figure out whether and how to switch from one to the other, without incurring more charges.

I just recently subscribed to equipment-free Fibe TV and the 4K channels were not available on my Apple TV. I was getting an error message on those channels even though they showed as available in the guide. I called Bell and they told me I had to purchase a receiver for $50 if I wanted to access the 4K channels, which are included in my TV package.

Hi @Jack87
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Can you share which model Apple TV you have?
Can you share the error message you were receiving when attempting to watch these stations?
What firmware version is your Apple TV on?
Is the Fibe TV App up to date on your device and can you share what the firmware version says?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Hello Folks,

Have there been any recent changes to Fibe TV? My picture quality through Apple TV is significantly better in the last few days. Is Fibe now broadcasting in 4K?

Hey there @Wildbill

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell community 🙂
