For some reason I have lost the Google Play app on my Bell Fibe TV under apps and games. I need to get it back so I can install/uninstall apps. Please suggest a way of getting it back.

thanks

Mik

Good Day & Welcome.

If the Google Play Store is missing on your Bell remote:

  1. You may need to sign into your Google account on a compatible device, e.g. VIP7802 Fibe TV Box, Bell Streamer.
  2. You should also be able to find it in the Apps section or by using the voice remote to search "Google Play".
  3. If you have a compatible box and it's still missing, check your TV's Settings > Apps > See all apps to enable it, or add it via the Input button menu.

Can you please share some further information with us in terms of:

  1. Which Bell TV service do you subscribe to? Fibe TV or Fibe TV app.
  2. Which remote control are using to access  Fibe TV?
  3. Are you using a Bell receiver? VIP5662w, VIP2502, VIP2202, etc. (Not all Fibe TV remotes & receivers include the Google Play app.)
  4. Are you using a Bell Streamer? How to download and install apps
  5. Are you using a VIP7802 Bell TV box? Fibe TV Voice Remote: List of How-tos and Tutorials from Bell

Let us know if you require further assistance.

Take care.

Thanks for the info it fixed the issue! It seems that for some reason Google Play Store was not activated in the bell remote system. So I activated it and all is good.

Hi, I cannot install additional new apps as my Google  Play Store on my Fibe TV box is not working. As the Fibe box is connected with ethernet and whenever you went on the app it say Something went wrong "Check your wi-fi or get a notification when your connection comes back'. What can I do.

Hi @aurecent
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Does this message only occur when you attempt to access the Google Play Store?
Are you able to access any other apps already installed on the receiver?
Is your Fibe TV working and can you watch content?
At which point when selecting the Google Play Store do you receive this message (immediately, when searching for an app, trying to download and install an app)?
Have you tried power-cycling your receiver (unplug it from the power for 2 minutes and then plug it back in)?
Looking forward to hearing back.

Hi, yes other apps work perfectly, but only on google play store this error message shows. I can watch TV and other things on the Fibe TV. This message shows when you enter the app (in the Home Screen of Fibe TV where all apps are and you press) and error message shows. I tried power-cycling. Still not working.

Hi @aurecent
We would recommend factory resetting your VIP7802 to defaults to see if that resolves the issue.
Please let us know how that goes.
