"Last" button on my Harmony 650 remote stopped working for infrared input

I have seen some improvements with the "new" firmware for the VIP 7802 PVR since my initials rants about how bad it was.  However in the latest update the "last" button on my Harmony 650 remote stopped working.  I have reprogrammed it, even by teaching it the infrared code directly from the Arris remote again, to no avail.  I see the light change on the PVR so the signal is being received.  The Arris remote always ends up being paired via Bluetooth and the "last" button works as expected when in Bluetooth mode.  It looks like the "last" button is only broken for infrared input.  If anyone from Bell is reading, please fix the "last" infrared input to the VIP 7802.

This fix is taking a very long time.  I'm starting to believe that there is no real fix on the way, we were just told that.

@BellPatricia

3 months ago, you mentioned that youre team was aware of the issue and was working on a fix.

Do you have any updates to share with us?

Any ETA on when that fix will be available?

TY

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Good Day & Welcome.

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

You did not mention anything related to physical damage caused by dropping the remote control, spillage, sticky finger buttons, falling asleep with the remote in hand, battery leakage / damage, lost in bed or between the sofa cushions, etc. Remotes are well used & eventually do need to be replaced.

You mentioned that the "Last" button is not working. Are you having any other problems with incorrect key presses? E.g. Page up & down, recordings, menu settings, scrolling, etc. Did you change the batteries?

Can you please provide us with some further information? Which remote control are experiencing issues with?  TV remote control or the receive / input device remote control? Please provide us with the make and model of the TV, receiver or input device that you are using?

Have you tried to do any troubleshooting? E.g.  Programming, fixing or replacing your Bell Fibe TV remote

  • Can you see any physical damage on your remote control? Stuck buttons, cracks or damage to the outer case?
  • Can you please confirm that you are on the correct TV input?
  • Please check the batteries in your remote controls.
  • In many cases, a power reset will clear any cache issues on your receiver, tv and or input device. Unplug the power cable directly from the back of your TV, receiver or input devices. Wait 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and wait a few minutes for the equipment to fully restart and load the appropriate information.

I would make sure that the battery storage area on the remote control is dirt free, dry & there is no battery leakage residue. I would clean the outside of the case with an old damp toothbrush. Use a small amount of dish soap if oils are a problem. Oils from the hand combined with dirt can cause the bulk of your problems with remotes. I have found that using a Q-tip or toothbrush usually solves the problems from keys sticking or not contacting. So, try this first. (Your goal is to clean the remote. Do not saturate or immerse it in liquids. Do not try to take it apart unless you really know how to put it back together.) You can use:

  1. Soap and water: any dish soap or liquid hand soap. (My preference is Dawn for it's excellent cleaning agents.)
  2. Vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, or sanitizing wipes.
  3. Lint-free cloth, toothpick, small ended needle tip, etc.
  4. Compressed air cannister.

All Bell remotes come with a 1-year warranty. If your defective remote is still under warranty, please contact Bell by chat or phone.

If the warranty has expired, you will need to purchase a replacement. These can be ordered online.

Take care.

Ty for answering.  There is no damage and never dropped. I touched something on the remote by mistake , the TVs remote. But not sure what . I did all the trouble shooting . I reprogrammed the remote and still not fixed

Good Day.

Thank you for your information.

"TV's remote?" Please elaborate on just what you mean by this.

What is the make and model of your TV? I can only speculate that you have either changed the input source on the remote accidentally or reset the type of connection that your TV remote will control.

Are you watching  Fibe TV using a streaming device, receiver, or the Fibe TV app that is available from the Smart TV manufactures store?

Most Smart TVs' have a configuration or setup manger that will auto configure your TV remote to the device that is connected. Please refer to these instructions that will be included in either an e-manual on your TV or will be located on the manufactures support website.

You can try disconnecting & reconnecting your device and running setup the specific device once again.

Let us know.

Take care.

Any update to this last button still does not work on harmony one remote

Hi. You reply like it's some news. The issue had been described above by few customers.

What it has to do with a battery?

The last button doesn't work on universal remotes for a few months already. Same for the FF button.

Please fix it already. Everything was fine before.
