Need outdoor weatherproof ringer for my landline service

Hi All !

I am new here, my first post.

I live in a rural area with a good Bell Landline service. When working outside I don't often carry my cell phone. I would like to buy a very loud outdoor weatherproof ringing bell for incoming calls. This can be 110 AC or low voltage locally powered, connected to the 2-wire phone line. I was told, the power from the phone line is not strong enough for this and I should look at some sort of relay not of a big load to the phone voltage, which can activate the ringer.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your question. Bell rented those kind of ringers years ago for industrial use. You might try an alarm or security company first. Perhaps they have the technology you need. You might also look for companies who work on copper wireline telephones and see if they have solutions.

Thank your for the reply.  I did check around, these devices are all several hundred dollars. Anything less costly? I have AC power outside and could make up some weatherproof enclosure. Is there some kind of relay/receiver which would use the ringing signal and close a contact?  Any ideas most welcome.

Thank you
