1.5gbs Download speed and max Device Speed

I recently switched to Bell and got the gigahub with 1.5 gbs service. I am noticing 500 - 600mbs on my MacBook Air or my iPhone 14 Pro from 12 inches away from the router. As I move further away drops down to 278 MBs I am fully aware that conditions such as walls and distance are affecting the speed but my question is given the max speed of 866 MB per second for both the iPhone and MacBook Air , are they actually achievable or is the 500mbs  a reasonable amount of speed that I should be expecting from the giga hub and the service. Second question is if I jump up to a 3 GBs service am I actually going to see a bump in speed or is the router to device speed going to be similar  Without ethernet cable.

Good questions. I did a quick Speed Test run on my own iPhone 11, about 1m from the Giga Hub, The result was 800/748 Mbps down/up, so yes, it's possible. But is it possible for you? Maybe.  You can confirm your connection speed through the wireless app, which you can install on both devices, to monitor your connection from the device to the modem. A speed test from within the Bell wireless app says I have a 5 Ghz connection and a speed of 725/750 Mbps down/up. That variance between the two speed tests is not unreasonable. You might need to do some deeper diving into your connection, however.

In regard to your last question, no. You won't see a bump in speed because your connection speed depends on the wireless protocol of the device, not your speed profile.

Thank you for your question. Please run a speed test and post the results. You can also run the Virtual Repair toll from the MyBell app to determine if there are technical issues with your connection.
