Hi!
Got a HH4000 with 3G service to the house. Want to make the most of it. Right now I have the 10G port going to a 2.5G on an ASUS RT-AX86U that then splits to 1G ports.
NOTE: I'm aware a 5G port with 2.5Gx4 outs would solve this, it's just I can get a 2x2.5G in switch from a friend.
I want to make the most of this and have a splitter so that my PC can fully utilize the 2.5G port it has. I see lots of switches with 2x2.5G input ports (like: 2.5Gx2 switch ), but I was wondering if through the HH4000 I could take the 10G line + 1G LAN1 to go into the 2.5Gx2 ports. Would I need a managed switch to bond these and would the HH4000 even allow this?
Note that I cannot DUAL WAN the Asus this way as the remaining LAN2-4 lines would 1G max out.

Hi @Shankovich
The HH4K is a consumer-grade gateway modem. I'm skeptical you could take those ports and do link aggregation, even with a managed switch. But even if it could, I assume all the configuration must be done using your Asus router.
Anyway, give it a try with the unmanaged switch you have available from a friend. From what you wrote, you're not planning to use your Asus, right?
Hoping more knowledgable people than me will contribute to this thread!
Keep us posted on how it's going.
