Bell Wi-Fi app in iOS phone not showing device names, it’s only showing MAC addresses of connected devices. App used to show all device names along with MAC addresses but recently something changed in app and started showing all MAC addresses.

How can I fix this issue? I can’t pause the internet access now because I don’t know MAC addresses of all connected devices.

The wifi address and the MAC address are not matching on any of my devices either.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

The MAC address in the app is obtained from the device that is connected to the modem.

If you go to your Wi-Fi settings on your device, and check the Wi-Fi address that your device uses on your network, it will match the  "MAC" address in the Wi-Fi app; ( Device - More info) & the "MAC" address located in your Bell Home Hub / Giga Hub under My devices.

The IP address that each of your devices is assigned will also match & show up in your device Wi-Fi settings, the Wi-Fi App, & in your Bell Home Hub /Giga Hub under My devices.
If you wish to verify this, you can do so by checking each devices MAC address comparing it to your modem & the app. You can also compare the IP address assigned to each device. Any offline device can be deleted in the modem & in the Wi-Fi app. All of the devices connected to the modem can be given alias names with their MAC address as a reference point. You can also change the icon.

When a device comes online, it will appear in the modem & in the app. You can rename any device after they connect in the modem & Wi-Fi app.

To change a device name in the Bell Wi-Fi app. Select Devices  > choose the device you wish to name > Select edit dots, top right corner > Select Edit device details > Enter a name for the device. > Choose Save. Complete these steps for each device you wish to give an alias name.

You can also give all of your devices a matching name in the modem by following these instructions:

Open any web browser. Login to your modem by typing the following: 192.168.2.1. Select  My devices. Choose the device that you wish to give an Alias name. Select the pencil to enter a name. Enter a name & then save the change. Repeat this for each of the devices you wish to name.

Keep in mind, you will need to know your modem password to make any changes.

Take care.
