We have had sympatico.ca e-mail addresses for decades and Bell Mobility cell phones for almost as long.
BUT I was told by Bell that our sympatico e-mail addresses would be lost if we drop our Bell land-line, which doesn't make any sense at all as we now ONLY ever access our sympatico e-mail from our cell phones.
Is there not some way to associate our sympatico e-mail addresses with our Bell Mobility services rather than our unneeded land-line?

Good Day.
I wish I could help you, but I can not. If you cancel your Internet account & you do not have an active mobility data account or related service attached at the time, then your Bell webmail email account would be closed & can not be reopened & activated. Once it is closed, there is no method to retrieve any of the information you may have stored on Bell's webmail server.
If you have an existing Bell email address, you are able to continue to use it as long as it is maintained on an active Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility data device, such as a Turbo Hub, Turbo Stick or MiFi on a continuous basis.
Thank you for posting your question
Take care.

Hi, I would like to discontinue my internet and landline account. I have 3 sympatico email addresses that I would like to keep. Is this possible? Can they be transferred to another person’s Bell Mobility account?

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum
Bell use to offer to transfer emails from one account to another account if both parties agreed to the transfer. This is no longer available since Bell decided to stop providing email addresses.
If your Bell services were cancelled, then your Bell webmail email accounts would be closed & can not be reopened & activated.
If you have an existing Bell email address, you are able to continue to use it as long as it is maintained on an active account. You will need to maintain a Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility data device, such as a Turbo Hub, Turbo Stick or MiFi on a continuous basis. In order to transfer an existing Bell email address to a different account, you would need to get in touch with Bell customer service.
If you delete it or wish to change it to another email address or move it to another account, this can not be done. You can no longer add a new Bell email address.
Thank you for posting your question
Take care.

Hello I just moved from Toronto to Tremblant in Quebec. I have been with Bell with my email adress for 7 years. I had internet and bell five tv.
I contacted Bell to let them know I was moving and was continuing with them for Tremblant and the idea was always to keep my email address . Someone came to install my internet and fibe tv. Now I can’t access my email and my messages. Bell tells me different answers. No one told when I made the order to move to Quebec that I would lose my messages and email adress? Which seems to be the case right now. Someone else said that sometimes it happens and then the third one told me that they should have told me… now I’m being referred to level two technician who is supposed to call tomorrow. My expert friends say that it doesn’t make sense since I’m staying with them with internet and tv!!! I’m a producer and need my emails!!!!why wouldn’t they tell me this when I contacted them!! I am so angry!!!

In order to transfer an existing Bell email address to a different account, you would of needed to get in touch with Bell customer service. Please call: 1 866 310-BELL (2355) and ask to be connected to a manager.
If you delete it or wish to change it to another email address or move it to another account, this can't be done. You can no longer add a new Bell email address.

@LMM you should check with Bell directly on this question. I don't think you can keep your Sympatico account. Given that Bell is heading to the exit for email service, you should get a email account (like Gmail) that's not connected to any provider.

Has there been an official announcement that Bell will be ending its email service? I have only seen the indirect evidence that it hasn't been well maintained.

I would say that not providing new e-mail addresses moving forward, is a good indication of where things are heading.
With the flurry of free e-mail services out there, I honestly do not see the point of using an ISP provided e-mail service besides business services.

I haven't seen an official announcement. I do know that Bell is no longer handing out email addresses for new subscribers, or for existing ones who decided to get an ISP-based email service.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.
Are all of your services billed & linked to the same account?
If you have an existing Bell email address, you are able to continue to use it as long as it is maintained on an active account. You will need to maintain a Bell Internet account or a Bell Mobility account device with data, e.g. Turbo Hub, Turbo Stick or MiFi on a continuous basis.
If cancelling your Bell Internet service: your Bell email address can no longer be used / accessed and all emails will be lost. In order to transfer an existing Bell email address to a different account, you would need to get in touch with Bell Customer Service. You need to do this prior to disconnecting your Internet service. This cannot be completed after the service is disconnected.
If you delete it or wish to change it to another email address or move it to another account, this cannot be done. You can no longer add a new Bell email address.

Take care.
