Ethernet through Bell Pods to computer isn't working

I recently switched to bell internet and purchased the pods so I can get a good connection to my desktop. The pods are working well, and so is the internet. But the one problem I have is when I start up my computer, I first have to unplug and plug the pod into the wall so the ethernet can start working, and then after it connects, the ethernet disconnects, and then like 2 minutes later it connects again. This is a problem, I need a stable internet connection to my computer because of school. And perfectly, my technician who set up my internet is now not answering my phone calls. I'm lost and I don't know what to do, please give me some suggestions. Thank you so much!

Its possible it's a defective ethernet port. If tech support isn't able to fix it over the phone they can exchange it for a new one.

While you wait though - if it's the larger Bell pod, it has two ethernet ports so you could also try both ports. Or if you have another pod that isn't also using the ethernet ports, you could move that pod to where your computer is and see if that one works.

Same as title. I have connected my Wifi Pod to my PC using a Ethernet cable, however my PC states that it is not providing a internet connection.

Let me know if you find a solution. Having the same problem…

PS4 not finding internet when connected by LAN to pod. WIFI app sees the connection, but nothing happening. Tried both ports

Hi there @Marjoriedonald
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Have you tried testing the ethernet cord on a different device to see if it connects?
Have you tried testing another ethernet cord?
Are you able to share your modem model and pod model?
Are you able to test a connection directly to the LAN port on the modem from the PS5 to see if it connects?
Looking forward to hearing back.

My NAS backup requires an ethernet connection and I want to run it from a pod to my desktop away from the Bell 3000 modem . When I attach the cat five cable all I see is the infamous blinking white cursor on the pods. Any ideas what steps and devices are necessary to set up the ethernet connection?

I wanted a solid signal path to manage my Synology NAS. So I have it, and a Macbook, ethernet-connected to an unmanaged switch in my home office. From there I have an ethernet run to a LAN port on the Bell modem.

My plans for whole-home/mesh networking using Bell pods will exclude anything that I can connect via ethernet where possible,

The ethernet port on the pod is to connect the pod only. It's not intended to provide an ethernet connection to a NAS or a PC, and the pods are to be connected to the home hub, not a PC ethernet port.

The Bell Modem is in the master bed room and my desktop is in another room in the condo. I can not run an ethernet cable from one room to another. So if I ran an ethernet cable from the pod to a router as an access point then I could run a ethernet  cable to my desktop, would this work?

If you turn the router into an AP, in which case it's makes more sense to use a pod. Unless for some reason you absolutely want a wired connection, in which case you can run it directly from the AP. The AP would still need to be connected to the home hub.

I would move the NAS next to the home hub and connect it to a free ethernet port on the home hub. The whole idea of a NAS is that it is attached to the network and therefore it's physical location does not really matter.

Since the router failed I have done what you pointed out, 'attaching the Synology device to the modem'. I have found using a desktop wifi dongle performs much slower then when I had the desktop attached to the AP in the A/V room. I attached my Dlink Router to the modem and then to the laptop so I can update the Dlink profile information. But even the Bell 192.68.2.1.IP address times out. The plan is to set up the AP like it was before the modem was replaced. So it has worked in the past but not now. Happy New Year and all the best to you and your loved ones.

I was so used to having the router I never thought that I could simply run the cat 8 ethernet cable into the pod and it works!!!

I'm done.

My Wi-Fi 6E Pod has two Ethernet ports.

My Wi-Fi 6E Pod has two Ethernet ports. One is connected to the NAS, the other to a downstream device. Both are connected with strong signals.
