Over the course of 3 months I have had 5 occurrences where devices connected over 2.4GHz were kicked off the WiFi network, while some devices recovered several IoT devices failed to reconnect. Analyzing the logs the devices that fail appear to be attempting to reconnect then immediately disconnect. Each occurrence appears to occur after 100's of IGMP entries in the log. Attempting to resolve the problem resetting the modem solves the problem however another less disruptive solution has been to disable then re-enable the guest WiFi access. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution or is this a bug with the router?

Solved! The issue was due to the platform attempting to connect to the router using 802.11b which caused the connect problem, forcing the platform to use 802.11g solved the problem - connects every time.

I've never used them, however If you want to investigate your 2.4 GHz signal quality then get an app for your phone, such as Ubiquity Wifiman, and use it to measure the 2.4 GHz signal strength at the location of your 2.4 GHz device. If it's marginal, then that may be your problem. The app will show you your 2.4 GHz access point, and all the rest of the 2.4 GHz activity in your area. You may find that you're flooded with high power 2.4 GHz from your neighbor, a nearby "smart" appliance, or from who knows where. You may also have problems with other 2.4 GHz noise emitters, e.g. a nearby USB3 device, a microwave oven, etc, etc. Unfortunately, 2.4 GHz is a dogs breakfast.

You make a good point however several devices connected to the router re-connected successfully and at least one device located in close proximity to the router had failed eventually reconnecting only after disabling then re-enabling the guest WiFi router feature with an acceptable -45dBm signal. I have scanned the 2.4G spectrum with LinSSID and there does not seem to be any neighbourhood devices operating in the channel currently being used use by our router.
