Hi there @Fjm
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
While both methods you have mentioned are technically able to be done, the easiest one to do is have your email address transferred from one account to the other. As confirmation, yes, emails (@sympatico.ca or @Bell.net) can be transferred from one account to another. This process needs to be done while both accounts are still active.

Good Day.

i am not quite sure I fully understand your question. Please have a look at the following.

  1. Are all of your services connected on One Bill?
  2. If so, you will be able to see two separate b1 internet services on MyBell?
  3. The issue of how to transfer your email from one service to another should not be of concern to you.
  4. Before you disconnect your home service, you must contact Bell Customer Service to make this change to your internet services.
  5. This change must be completed prior to the disconnect of your home services. If you fail to do so, your email will be removed & cannot reactivated.

Please call Bell Customer Service at 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device. Explain to the representative exactly what you wish to do, “transfer linked email from one internet account to another.”

Bell Valet coordinates & arranges for the disconnect & transfer of all services from one address to another; a transfer from & to process. You are looking to modify an existing service & I can only assume disconnect your home services.

Thank you for contacting the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

Thanks for responding to my question
Yes you are correct and all services are under one bill. however I have concerns about moving email as I keep reading no gurantee it can be done successfully.  But when I have moved in the past to a new location. I’ve never had an issue with email.  so my question is, is it not easier to just move the Internet service to an existing service at my other location and then cancel that other service.  I just need to make sure I keep my email addresses  and  don’t want to move everything to gmail.

Good Day.

This is not within our circle of influence to control & decide upon. You indicated in an earlier post that you had  Bell Internet at both locations. If this is the case, then you are not moving your internet service. You are transferring the email account from one Bell Internet to another Bell Internet before you disconnect your home internet. How it comes about, is a Bell decision.

There are no guarantees in life.

Sorry, but that is the best answer I can give you. For further detailed technical information related to this email account transfer should be directed to the Bell team that is going to do this for you. Please reference my earlier reply.

Thank you once again.

Take care.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I’ll contact Bell as I’m going to just cancel the service up north and move this service so that I do have a guarantee that I don’t lose my email. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

Thank you for your question. I would like to understand your question a little more. Is your cottage phone account with Bell? Does it have internet service on that account? Bell has discontinued e-mail services, so it may or may not be possible.

Again, thank you to all for responding.  The reality is slightly different in that what you stated above seems very simple and makes perfect sense however, when you speak to  a rep there is not a simple form they fill out and everything goes according to plan. It’s more complicated and runs the risk of losing your email.  One would think saying I wanna move the email address is attached to one account to another is straightforward. However, you need to provide which email addresses you want to move as an example so if you have many it is more complicated and many of the reps are a bit confused by the request.  The simplest way and what I’ve chosen to do is move the existing service so nothing mistakenly gets deleted and then just cancel the service at the Remote address. Yes, it adds technician time and a bit of a pain as simply a logical change could be done in the network, but the confusion and risk isn’t worth it.  Long story short the best bet moving forward for most Bell customers is to create a email on third party system ie gmail or other  and proactively send out that new address banks, medical, social etc with it before disconnecting your Bell service.  it’s most likely just a matter of time before Bell discontinues Sympatico and Bell domains
