POD giving off static?

Got new 150 Fibe, new modem and new PODS.  They are the larger ones.  It's been a few weeks and once in awhile at least one of them that I've noticed seems to give off a static sound/ perhaps a fan sound - it comes and goes?  What is this? Is it normal?

Did this start as soon as the equipment was installed, or afterwards? How long does the sound normally last? 
Are you able to confirm if only one or both is making the static sound?
We recommend that you try unplugging the equipment, and test to see if that makes a difference.
