I had a technician to our house once when we were having internet connectivity issues. He said all of our pods should be connecting to the modem and not to one another. He fixed it but I’ve discovered that our upstairs pod is again connecting to a pod on the main floor and not the modem, and it’s this upstairs pod that has been giving us problems. That is also where my husband is working. How do we correct this?

While this is an old thread, I have found that my pods do connect pod to pod as opposed to from the Giga Hub modem directly. Everything works well. The Bell tool "Troubleshoot Your Wi-Fi" found here, is a helpful way to understand your network and where there are problems. https://support.bell.ca/Troubleshooting_tools_and_Help/Internet

That's strange that the technician would say that.....pods is a mesh system and mesh means they are all connected to each other and feed off of each other. The pods send and receives to one or all access points to improve the signal.
If a pod is giving you problems, a good place to start is moving it a little closer to other access points. Common mistake people make is placing pods in a dead zone..... that pod will receive very weak signal and give and device connected to it a weak signal. What you want to do is place the pod in between the dead zone and your modem or other pods. That will strengthen the signal that the pod receives and transmit a stronger signal to you.

OK. If it continues to give us problems, I'll try moving it. We were also told that if the pods were bouncing off each other, that moving around the house with your device would disrupt the wi-fi on the device.
How would you describe a dead zone?

A dead zone is an area that the Wi-Fi signal doesnt reach because its too far away from the modem or pod. If you put a pod in that dead zone, than that pod will not be able to pickup the signal from the far modem or pod.
Think about the pods as microphone, they take a sound a make it louder but they will only amplify the sound that they can pick up. If the sound is too low for the microphone to pic up and amplify, you have to move the mic closer. Now picture multiple microphones all taking in the sound and amplifying it at the same time.....that can fill an entire house with sound as long as each mic is in close enough distance to a sound source. The sound in your case, is your wifi. You want your pod between your modem or other pod and your dead zone.
