Unable to send email

for some reason, I can receive emails on my bell.net account from anywhere, but cannot always send emails. Not sure why, and bell has not replied to my requests for assistance on this.

Any feedback from someone who has encountered this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there @Quannie,
Welcome to the Bell Community, and thank you for posting.
Can you share what happens when you try to send an email? Is it just when you try to send to a certain email address, or is this affecting multiple email addresses?
Are you accessing your email via Bell Webmail or a third party email client such as Outlook?
What type of device/browser are you using, and are you able to test on an alternate device/browser to see if the issue persists?
We hope to hear back from you soon.

Hi,

so i tried to forward an email from my Inbox to my kids- on my iphone outlook app. It showed as “sent” for me, both kids didn’t receive it- including in Junk.

i resent- same result.

i sent a test emai to myself- received.

I forwarded the 1st email to my sister- she didn’t receive it!

i then logged into the Bell Webmail webpage- and forwarded from there to kids and sister. All received.

however, when i check the Sent folder on the webmail- it is missing all of the today’s unsuccessful sends from the phone, plus random months of my other sent emails!! They are there on the phone app’s Sent- but not in the Webmail Sent. And now sending from the phone is hit and miss? What’s going on?!

When I try to update my account settings I get an error message that says "IMAP server does not support password authentication. Please check your account settings and try again." Do I need to delete my Bell email account and reload it?

Could you provide a few more specific details?

You are trying to update your account settings? What device are you trying to do this on? Manufacturer? Make Model? OS or iOS? Windows, Safari, Chrome, etc.

Have you tried this from a another device or a computer?

Are you logging in from a web browser or email client such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Google Gmail?

Have you made any changes to your system? Is your operating systems up to date? Apps current? Have you rebooted whatever you are using by doing a complete power off then back on after 20-30 seconds? Have you cleared your cache, cookies & history?

Have you reviewed the minimum system requirements as suggested earlier by @Vanadiel ?

The minimum system requirements and other information are included by selecting:

I have a sympatico account that I use on my computer and iPhone.  I can send and receive on my computer, but can only receive on my iPhone, and cannot send.  My iPhone keeps telling me to enter a password only after I try resending the message.  I've entered the password several times and it still doesn't work. any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Thank you for your question. to set your e-mail up on your iPhone, you will need to follow the directions found here.

Using Bell email : Email server settings

If you want your mail synchronized across your devices, use IMAP. If you want to read them on your iPhone but download them later on your PC, use POP. Both devices have to use the same protocol.

I  have the same issue.  I did look at the trouble shooting page, email is good,  seems this is a Bell problem and the fix on the troubleshooting page is

If the email address looks correct, you can try sending your message again. If it still doesn’t go through, contact the recipient another way.

Funny this is why I have email, it is convenient.  Cable fib is coming down the street, NOT Bell I'm afraid.

Hey there @jackd,

Thank you for your post.

Can you clarify what happens when you try to send an email (e.g. do you get an error message)? Does the email eventually send successfully? Is this affecting a certain address that you are emailing or is this happening to other emails as well?

How are you accessing Bell email (through a third party email client such as Outlook, or directly on our website)? If you are accessing your Bell email through a third party email client can you send a test email while logged directly into Bell Webmail to see if the same thing happens?

We hope to hear back from you soon,

@BellPatricia

I am still using Sympatico.  Occasionally when replying to an email,  a window opens   ' an terminal error has occurred' .  and thats it,  I have found that even when I save the mail in my drafts and try to resend I get the error.   I have closed the mail  and reopen and then I can send ok, sometimes.

I can receive but not send email from my bell email on iphone.  I keep getting message username or password incorrect but i am using correct info.
