Hi all.
I just switched to Bell Fiber Internet and I'm having an issue with my VOIP phone service.
My phone service worked with my previous provider (and still does). But when I plug the ATA Phone Adaptor into the Bell moden, I don't get a dial tone.
This is obviously a connection issue but I've forwarded the ports to the modem i can't get a dial tone. I've even placed the Phone Adaptor in the DMZ, still no dial tone.
Is Bell blocking any ports?
I went into the Port Forward section on my old cable modem and I don't even have ports forwarded. It's so odd why the phone adaptor won't connect.
I hope someone can offer some guidance as the phone adaptor and service are in working order.
Thanks.

Okay, final update.
Port speed issue. Looks like I had to change the modem port speed down to 100 Mb and the two devices connected.
Actually, PINGs were dropping so I just connected the Phone Adaptor back to the network switch. There's a dial tone and I'm able to make calls.
end of story.

Well...I found the solution to my own problem.
The modem was plugged into the Fiber modem - i moved the connection from the modem to an attached switch. Bam, I could ping the device and it's online with a dial tone.
Still not sure it wasn't working when directly connected to the modem. Maybe
