I switched to bell 1.5g fibe 2 days ago. I found that my WeChat image upload/voice chat/video chat does not work any more. Only texts chat is good.
WhatsApp’s video chat is working.
The WeChat functions work well when I use mobile data or the previous Virgin internet

I solved the problem by finishing the bell internet setup. There is a warning message in the desktop browser, just under the address, saying you have to finish the bell internet setup. WeChat works well after I finished the bell internet setup.

Hi there @Menghan,
Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community.
Can you share exactly what's happening when you use WeChat while connected to your home Internet service? Also, what type of device are you using, and does this happen with any other device?

Maybe you can switch around the DNS. But it’s best not to use that app which is CCP-backed-or-controlled.

We installed bell 1.5g fibe yesterday , and I found that my WeChat image upload/voice chat/video chat does not work any more. Only texts chat is good.
Messages video is working.
The WeChat functions work well when I use mobile data or Rogers. Does Bell prohibit using WeChat?

I installed bell 1.5g fibe on Aug. 5, and I found that my WeChat image upload/voice chat/video chat does not work any more. Only texts chat is good.
Messages video is working.
The WeChat functions work well when I use mobile data or Virgin plus.
I use iPhone. My wife use iPhone. Neither of us works with WeChat.
My Virgin plus is not cancelled yet so I can switch back to it. WeChat works well with Virgin plus.

Hi, I know it's been a while you have posted this problem. I'm currently having the same issue. I've tried to call Bell tech support but they do not seem to understand what the issue is... When you say "finish the bell internet setup", what do you mean? Thank you.

Hi,
After Bell employee installed the router I can connect to the WiFi and the internet seems working well. But WeChat does not work with image/image. But there is a prompt when you use web browser asking you to finish internet setup. After you click it you will get registered in MyBell and then everything works well.
good luck
