Webmail seems to have tiny storage for sympatico email account- HELP!

I use webmail for my old sympatico email. 

The only place I have my many old emails is on my mac, which is getting old and I'm worried it will die and I will lose them all. 

Two questions;

Why does my webmail only allow a VERY limited amount of emails? It says storage space expands based on need on the Bell website, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Is there a way to get the emails on my computer onto webmail?

Any answers very welcome.

Bell Mail includes email storage that automatically increases as you need more space. If you have downloaded & removed the email from the Bell webmail server, there is no method of putting them back on Bell webmail.

IMAP allows you to access your email wherever you are, from any device. When you read an email message using IMAP, you aren't actually downloading or storing it on your computer; instead, you're reading it from the email service. This means that your mail data in the Mail client is synchronized with the mail server at any time, any changes you make to emails in the Mail client (such as deleting emails, create new emails, create new sub-folder) will be synchronized to the server. Usually, emails deleted from the inbox will arrive at the deleted items folder, please check if these emails are in the deleted items folder.

POP3 works by contacting your email service and downloading all of your new messages from it. Once they are downloaded onto your PC or Mac, they are deleted from the email service (excepting if you select to "Leave a copy of the message on the server option"). This means that after the email is downloaded, it can only be accessed using the same computer.

If you're using a software email client such a MAC Mail, check your account settings. You need to make sure the setting for the email server is set to IMAP, and / or with the correct POP3 option setting. POP3 email servers will push out old emails when you log in, and they will be stored on your local device & removed from the server unless you select to: "Leave a copy of the message on the server option". IMAP always stores email on its server and not on your computer.

I haven't actioned any of this yet, but appreciate the time you've taken to write this out. Will get back after I read it through carefully.
