Caller ID and Name Display

When I call someone that does not have my number saved on their phone, they only see my number and not the name and the number together like I see with Rogers/FIDO subscribers.

Does anyone know what is the issue?

Hi there,

it is not an issue, just we are getting less services with Bell. Bell doesn’t have this service activated at all for no one they said when I contacted the costumer service. In the beginning I had a hard time to explain my concern ti the representative as they aren’t really interested in saying that they don’t have this service for us. This is insane as almost all providers like Rogers, Fido, Koodo are able ti get it activated by default and there no need for you to contact and activate the service. Bell Dias say that are investing in technology more then other providers but they aren’t able to give us this caller ID service that the minimum service.

Hello,

I have been very disturbed after talking to NO CALLER ID guys, I’m not really sure who it is but I’m very depressed with those, I would like to figure it out who it is.

 Thank you

Hi there, @Naik. Welcome to the Community.

Our Caller Name DisplayOpens in a new tab or window feature will show the name and phone number of the caller if that information is available. Otherwise, we're unable to provide the identity of incoming calls or messages as a matter of privacy protection.

If these calls are distressing to you, we recommend blocking the numbers calling you, or in extreme cases to contact usOpens in a new tab or window to change your own phone number.

Let us know if you're in need of any further assistance.

My name is not showing with my number when I'm calling people or businesses. It is part of my package and always worked when I was with Fido and Rogers. Support is telling me that my name will only show up when I only call other Bell Mobility customers. I do have the feature turned on to show my caller ID with my my bell features. My phone settings are turned on as well I am not switched to private. Why is something as simple as this not available or working??

Coming from Fido and Rogers over to Bell with my Samsung device ; with the Hiya (show my caller info turned off) my full name and number would show. Following your instructions and turning it on.  I just called my girlfriend at her office and to confirm, only my number shows up on their call display no name information displayed. Prior to switching over to Bell my full name always showed on her display but not now.

Hi

if I call I some one they are receiving my name in their display only my mobile is displayed

pls advise how to  activate the service

thanks

When I call someone I want my name to appear and not my phone number..how can this be fixed?  I just did a chat session with Bell, got frustrated and closed out...what is the problem??

How do I change the display name that appears when I call someone?

I would also like to know how I can change the outgoing callerid name for one of my Bell Mobility lines...
My wife is using one of the line. I would like the line to "send" her name.

Bell doesn't transmit caller id name for cell a phone line... only your number is transmitted.
If the persons you are calling are seeing a name, it is likely coming from their contact information that was set up for your numbers in their address book.

You can not change your display name when you make a call. You can however hide your name from being displaying on an individual call or all call basis.

To block your mobile phone number on a per-call basis, dial #31# before each phone number you call.

To permanently block your number go to your Settings menu for your mobile device & select the option to display or hide your caller ID.

If you have permanently blocked your number, you can unblock it on a per-call basis by dialling *31# before you dial each phone number.

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

are you 100% sure of that? I find it weird Rogers do it... and not Bell.

That is correct! I am 100% sure of this. I can not speak for Rogers or any other mobile supplier. Every supplier has some form of unique built in feature included in their customer account profile.

I copied the following off as it appears on the Roger web site. (You can also add a secondary authorized user name to your account on MyBell.)

Rogers: "How do I change my name (Caller ID) that others see when I call?"

  • Changing your Caller ID will also update the name that appears on your bill and in MyRogers wherever your phone number appears.
  • Changing a Caller ID will add a new name to the Wireless account, which means that person will be able to make plan changes and buy/remove optional services like add-ons and travel packs.
  • Your Caller ID will only appear for people that haven't saved your phone number as a contact. If the person you're calling has saved you on their phone's Contacts list, the name they've saved as a contact will display, along with your number."

Hopefully this has been of assistance to you.

Take care and thank you reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

Why people see my as unknown caller when I call them?

Please verify the following. You can change this from within MyBell.

Mobile steps:
1. Open the MyBell app.
2. Select the device on your plan you are changing this setting for.
3. Navigate to device settings by clicking the gear icon in top right.
4. Check "on" the setting for "Display my caller ID"

There is also a device setting in your mobile phone that needs to be turned on:
To permanently block or unblock your number from showing, go to your Settings menu for your mobile device & select the option to display or hide your caller ID.

Take care.

What do you mean with “call us” and change the phone number. Who want to change the phone number because Bell doesn’t have the Caller ID and Name Display activated.
