Prepaid calling and SMS issue - Error 2

"Can't send message with Bell error 2"

What causes this and also not being able to call or receive call on a Bell prepaid phone #?

Hi there, @Nate. Welcome to the Bell Community.

We wanted to check in and see if you were still having issues receiving "Error 2" when trying to send messages. If so, could you answer the clarifying questions below?

  • Which messaging app are you using? If you are using Google Messages or iMessage, try using another app and see if the issue persists.
  • What exactly does the error say other than Error 2? Is there anything else displayed on your screen.
  • Have you turned off Advanced Messaging? If not, go into the Settings of your messaging app, choose Advanced Messaging, then make sure that it's turned off.
  • Are you able to make/receive phone calls and use data?

With these, the Community will be better equipped to assist.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum

Try turning your phone off/on. Sometimes a fresh connection to the network is all that you need.

  1. Make sure your phone is on the most up-to-date OS.
  2. Check your phone to make sure you haven’t blocked the number you’re trying to text.
  3. Have you recently switched from an iPhone? You probably need to deregister your phone number from iMessage. See this link: Deregister and Turn Off iMessage - Apple Support

Anyone else get the message "Can't send message with Bell, Error 2". I am unable to send text messages all of a sudden.

Thank. I was able to use it again the next morning without issue. I did turn it off and back on, and the OS is up to date. The number I was texting wasn't a blocked number. I have an android so it wasn't anything Apple related. So just a Bell glitch I guess.
