I switched from virgin to bell and RCS won't verify my number. Bell said it was a Google problem and Google said it was a bell problem. I have removed my number from Google, cleared my messaging data and cache, updated my phone and app. I have posted on Google forums and done all the steps Google offers. Nothing is working. I have a pixel 9. Help please.

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum
@HS3 Thank you for posting your question.
Please try the following & let us know if this resolves your problem.
- Verify that your Pixel 9 OS & Messages app are fully up to date.
- Open the Messages app. Go to settings and turn off RCS chats.
- Open your browser and go to Google. Select > Your Google account picture. Select > More settings. Select > Google account settings. Go to the personal info tab. Select > Your phone number & delete it from your Google account. Refresh the page & verify your number is no longer listed & make sure it's deleted at the bottom of the page if was used for 2 step verification.
- Go to your phone's Settings > Apps > Google Messages > Storage > Clear the cache and data.
- Go into your phone's Settings. Select > Apps > App management. Select > Show system. Scroll down & Select > Carrier communications. Select > Force stop and confirm. Select > Storage usage and clear the cache.
- Disable phone number verification: Go to > Settings > Google > All Services > Phone Number Verification and turn it off. Then, in Google Messages, disable RCS chats and restart your phone before
turning RCS back on. - Close all of your phones background apps & restart your phone.
- Go back into Google settings in your browser and add your phone number back to your account. Verify your number. You should receive a SMS text with a verification code within a short period of time.
- Open Google Messages, tap your profile picture or initial. Select > Messages settings & tap RCS chats to toggle it on.
Take care.
